Audi Lights Bulbs Xenon Headlights HIDWhen you want style and luxury in cars, which can do it better than the Germans? The Audi is one such German ride, which does not fail one’s expectations. However, to embellish and decorate is human nature (whether the boys admit it or not) and it extends to cars, and if you have a car like the Audi, that impulse is heightened. Fortunately, the Audi, have been around since 1909, has come a long way and does offer its owners (or potential owners) a wide space to upgrade and personalize their ride even in the Lighting section. Rest assured- the stork already drove out your Audi from the factory with an extensive lighting system. So let us not waste our precious virtual ink on the usual kind of lights which we see everywhere. Here, we will discuss some of the lighting developments made lately and the new technology car manufacturers are incorporating into the world of automobile illumination. Audi comes with a wide range of lights for all its models (RS, S, TT and so on). But when speaking about the lights or upgrading them, it is essential to bear in mind that the lights you choose, bond really well with the style and the functionality of the car in general. Headlights or taillights can be use LED or the HID interface, or they can be the traditional gas Halogen bulbs. Numerous Audis are already coming fully equipped with HID headlights but you can get them OEM or aftermarket too which means you can upgrade your vehicle into having them later on too. HIDs employ xenon light bulbs, and bear in mind that the Audi Xenon lights are unparalleled. Be it the infinite Blue or the Yellow Blaze, once you use the Audi HID kits, your nocturnal on-road presence will be inflated like never before. Of course, we do have that section of people too who will wrinkle their noses with disapproval for the HIDs. The word ‘High Intensity Discharge’ is quite a mouthful and so some people may flip out saying that the possessor of these is definitely either indifferent to the fact that he is blinding the drivers on the other side of the road, he is a snob desperate for attention, or more often than not, both of the above. The lights may be an indulgence but then again, why not pamper your Audi? If you have made up your mind to upgrade your ride with an HID conversion kit, do not forget the Hid Ballast, which is like the gear control for the lighting system. Moving on from HID, let us come to the more vanilla flavored, less intense DRLs. In the year 2006, Audi introduced its first range of Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) in the Audi S6. These DRLs use the LED technology since unlike the bulbs usually used in lights, LEDs succeed in emitting a more efficient and different light. The DRLs are ideal for those who absent-mindedly either forget to switch their car’s lights off during the day, or forget to put them on in the night, and let’s face it; this is one road we all have been on before at some point or the other. That is not the only attraction of the Audi LED DRLs. The halogen bulbs do not give your Audi that special zing which the LEDs do. The white LED sidelights, especially on the flagship models (R8 and RS) add such an imperial quality to the façade of your car that is hard to miss. Meanwhile, the look is also dignified and does not go over board or take away from the civilized originality of the design of the car. The R8, A5 and the more elite versions of the latest A4 are already equipped with DRLs. However, if you are one of those who need to upgrade to the LEDs, do not fret, as the process is not tedious. Wiring harnesses specially designed for the Audi are available in the market if you look at the right places. However, daytime and nighttime vision cannot be your sole concern since Mother Nature is a little more complex than that. There are other conditions to think of and for a car fanatic that only means more opportunity to add some extra character to the car. Take the fog for instance. Audi comes with plethora of fog and projection lights to enable better vision for the driver by illuminating parts of the road, which the headlights alone will not. While most people are aware of fog lights, not all know Projection lights. These are not very different from fog lights and while they come with the headlamps, these can also be attached to the bumper after-market. Let’s not forget the tail of your Audi shall we? Headlights may illuminate the road ahead of you, but you need to back up too sometime don’t you (in case you forgot with all the talk about headlights), so why not backup with extra style? You can replace those OEM taillights with the more sleek and classy LED and Euro taillights. These are available in Red Clear, Crystal Clear, JDM Black, and the list goes on. However, dear Audits, do not let the towering option overwhelm you, and do not go overboard when selecting lights for you Audi. Be sure to check for the attachments that come specifically for the model of your car. The sound range of Audi models out there translates into a mammoth sized variety and options of lights to choose from. So research well and pick the ones, which suit your car perfectly and make that personal statement you want to. So what are you waiting for? Light away!
